Day - Every Wednesday (except the Wednesday nearest to Christmas)
Time - 4.15pm – 6.15pm
Cost - £1 per session
Abilities - All levels. Beginners welcome
Fruit juice provided half way
We have sufficient boards and tiles but if you wish to bring your own that’s fine.
The room is well lit, warm and comfy and parking is not a problem.
Anyone needing a lift to and from will always be helped if at all possible.
The group comprises some of the nicest people going. They are all caring and friendly - almost like a family. The more able players will always give of their expertise and help the less able. This brings everyone’s game to a higher standard and improves enjoyment. We have a great time.
There are two “Scrabble” jamborees each year (March and November). Our next is 25 November 2009. These are run by the various U3A Scrabble Group convenors with some financial assistance from one of the participating U3As. There are morning and afternoon sessions and players may choose when they wish to play. There is usually a charge of £1 per session towards refreshment and hall hire.
Apart from the regular sessions our group have a day out together once a year. In past years there have been visits to Stansted House, Blackmoor Apple Farm,
